Galesburg, Illinois newspapers 1853-1897 page 53. Galesburg Republican Register - William M. Heath was born in Greenwich,
New York, May 11, 1815, son of
Sidney and Phebe (Foster) Heath. He spent his boyhood at home, obtaining
education in common schools; he
afterwards became a carriage maker which he learned at Troy, New York. He removed from Washington county, New
York to Knox county,
Illinois. William and Lucinda married August 3,
1837 and it was the first marriage
performed in Knoxville; Rev. Newell officiated. They began their home at Center
Point where they lived 28 years. Mr. Heath put on the first siding on the
first house that had siding in Galesburg. The whole family moved to Wataga 1856. They had 8 children, two now living,
James and William. Funeral from residence
was Sunday afternoon. April
15, 1882. William and his wife Lucinda had the following children:
